Terms of Service
Last updated: 16th of October 2026. These terms are pending review by our solicitor and may be updated.
1. Who we are
The Vine-Letter is a weekly email newsletter curating wine offers from United Kingdom
merchants, published by The Vine Letter,
United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can contact us at
hello@thevineletter.co.uk.
2. The service
Subscribers receive a weekly email, ordinarily on Thursday mornings, featuring wine
offers we have selected from UK merchants. The newsletter is editorial in nature:
we do not sell wine, hold stock, or process wine orders. All purchases are made
directly with the relevant merchant, on that merchant's own terms.
3. Independence — no commission
We take no commission, affiliate fees, or payment of any kind from merchants featured
in the letter. Selections are made on value and quality alone. Links in the newsletter
go directly to the merchant's own website.
4. Prices and accuracy
Prices and savings shown are checked against the merchant's own published prices at the
time each issue is prepared. Merchants change prices and availability without notice,
and offers may end at any time. Always confirm the price on the merchant's site before
buying. We are not responsible for pricing errors on merchant websites or for offers
that have expired.
5. Subscription and billing
- The subscription costs £2.50 a month for the United Kingdom edition, $2.50 for the
United States, HK$25 for Hong Kong, A$5 for Australia and R20 for South Africa,
billed monthly in advance by card via our payment processor, Stripe. Subscribers
who joined at £1 a month stay at £1 a month.
- Wine Watcher Basic (one watched wine) and My Cellar are included in the
subscription. Wine Watcher Plus (up to 4 wines) and Premium (up to 10 wines) cost
extra each month, at the prices shown on our website for your edition (in the
United Kingdom, £1 and £2 a month), and are added to the same bill.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.
- You may cancel at any time via the "Manage subscription" link in any issue or by
contacting us. Cancellation stops future billing; no further issues are sent after
the current billing period ends.
- As the service is a periodical delivered by email, each issue is supplied at the
start of its billing period. Statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts
Regulations 2013 are unaffected; where a right to cancel within 14 days of first
subscribing applies, we will refund the first month if you have not yet received
an issue.
6. Referral scheme
- Each subscriber has a personal referral link. When someone subscribes through your
link and remains a paying subscriber, you earn three months' subscription credit.
- If five or more people you referred hold active paid subscriptions at the same time,
your own subscription is free for as long as that remains true, checked on a rolling
basis.
- Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and apply only to The Vine-Letter
subscription.
- We may withhold or reverse credits arising from self-referral, fraudulent signups,
payment disputes, or other abuse of the scheme, and may amend or end the scheme
prospectively at any time. Credits already earned will be honoured.
7. Age and responsible drinking
The Vine-Letter is intended for adults aged 18 and over. By subscribing you confirm you
are at least 18 years old. Merchants will apply their own age verification at purchase.
Please drink responsibly — see drinkaware.co.uk.
8. Intellectual property
The content of each issue and of this website is ours (or our licensors'). You may
forward issues personally and share your referral link, but may not republish the
newsletter commercially without our permission.
9. Liability
We provide the newsletter with reasonable skill and care, but to the extent permitted by
law we are not liable for losses arising from merchant pricing errors, expired offers,
merchant conduct, or your purchases from merchants. Nothing in these terms limits
liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the
newsletter or by email. Continued subscription after changes take effect constitutes
acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and
Wales have jurisdiction.
